Jean Claude Darcheville is an attacker who currently wears the number nineteen shit for Scottish club Rangers FC. The thirty two year old was born in France, but has lived and played in several different countries.
Jean Claude Darcheville started his senior career playing for his local side Stade Rennes, a French club who play in the French top division. From 1995, Darcheville was at the club for three years, making a total of forty two appearances and scoring five goals for the club. The Frenchman then decided to try and seek his fortune abroad, so moved to English club Nottingham Forest. While in England, Darcheville had a less than inspiring season, being awarded sixteen caps but only scoring two goals. Many people put this poor record down to his personal circumstances, as he was still recovering emotionally from the death of his wife and children.
In 1999, Jean Claude Darcheville decided that he would move back to French football, and was sold to top flight team FC Lorient. While at Lorient, the thirty two year old made over one hundred appearances and scored forty four goals, one of which won the final in the Coupe de France competition in the 2001-02 season. He was also runner up in another year’s Coupe de France, but due to the relegation of FC Lorient in 2002, Darcheville put an end to the three year period by leaving the club.
FC Girondins de Bordeaux, or Bordeaux for short, was the team who signed the skillful attacker, and luckily for them he was on form after scoring nineteen goals the previous season. Jean Claude Darcheville continued to play good football, and in his first season netted eleven goals. In five years at the club, Darcheville made over one hundred and thirty appearances and scored over thirty five goals for Bordeaux, as well as winning the Coupe de la Ligue with the club in the 2006-07 season, which turned out to be his final season at the club.
After playing for Bordeaux, Darcheville moved out of France once again, but this time it was to Scottish team Rangers FC. Jean Claude Darcheville has had an impressive first season at the club, helping Rangers to win both the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup, and helping the team to reach the UEFA Cup final, but they lost by two goals to nil. In his first season at the club, Darcheville has made thirty appearances and scored twelve goals for the club, and has expressed a wish to stay at the club for the rest of his foot balling career.
