DaMarcus Beasley is a twenty six year old footballer who plays primarily as a left winger. The American born player currently plays in Scotland for Rangers FC, but has played in four different countries in his career so far.
DaMarcus Beasley started his foot balling career at youth level training at the world famous IMG Soccer Academy in the United States, but in 2000 he signed his first professional contract for American side Chicago Fire. Beasley spent four years at the club, making eighty eight appearances and scoring fourteen goals.
His good performances at Chicago Fire were rewarded with interest from a host of clubs, but he ended up signing for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven as a replacement for Arjen Robben in 2004. The deal was worth two and a half million dollars, which seemed a fair amount for the player. While at PSV, Beasley made fifty six appearances, scoring ten goals, and in the 2006-07 season he was loaned out to English club Manchester City, where he scored three goals in eighteen appearances.
After his loan spell at Manchester City, DaMarcus Beasley was immediately sold to Scottish club Rangers FC. The American made his debut for the club in August 2007, and scored his first goal for the club just three days later. In his first season with Rangers, Beasley has made eleven league appearances and has scored two goals, but the player has also helped the Ibrox club to win the Scottish Cup and reach the final of the UEFA Cup, where they lost to Zenit St. Petersburg.
DaMarcus Beasley has had a fantastic career for his country so far. The player made his senior debut for the United States in 2001 after an extremely successful campaign at youth level, and was selected for the United States squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and is now the country’s regular left midfielder, earning a regular spot in the side. Beasley has also played in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, although he failed to make any real impact, with the Americans crashing out in the group stages having scored just one goal, but this is not to say that DaMarcus Beasley is lacking in international medals, having won the CONCACAF Cup three times in 2002, 2005 and 2007. Overall, DaMarcus Beasley has made a total on seventy seven appearances for the senior side, scoring fifteen goals.
